The 6’1” 185-pound righty started 2009 with the Sioux City Explorers, and came to Pensacola as part of a trade that sent Luis Bautista to Sioux City. The 26 year old catcher was drafted in the third round of 2003’s amateur entry draft by the Milwaukee Brewers. He spent 2006 and 2007 in double-A with the Huntsville Stars, hitting 11 homers, 22 doubles, and 63 RBI in 2007.
